Top Five Reasons To Love or Hate the CAT Bus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

So if there’s one-thing Clemson students learn while attending school here, it’s that the CAT Bus can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. I think I’d be hard pressed to find more than five people who don’t have a love/hate relationship with our feline transportation system. Therefore, I thought it’d be fun to highlight the reasons we love and hate the CAT Bus!

1. Helps you get to class on time

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve miraculously gotten to classes on time when I absolutely know I’m going to be late. Makes you feel kind of like Deandre Hopkins on 4th and 16 against LSU.

Makes you late for class

Trust me, 85 percent of teachers don’t accept “The CAT Bus was late” as a valid excuse for tardiness. But they really should.

2. Some drivers will wait for you if you’re jogging to the CAT bus.

It’s totally worth trying to hide that embarrassingly awkward out of breath feeling when you successfully get on the bus!

Some leave you running in their dust.

Oh don’t worry about me, Mr. CAT Bus driver, I jog in jeans and boots with my backpack on and keys in my hands all the time.

3. Keeps you from having to walk through rain.

Pretty much self-explanatory, no one likes walking into class looking like they’ve just swam to class from Y beach.

Makes you wait in cold rain for 10 minutes some days.

No big deal, I’ve been meaning catch pneumonia for a while now anyways.

4. The drivers are friendly and personable.

Let’s be real, a kind CAT Bus driver can really brighten a gal’s day.

Some drivers are too friendly and too personable.

Okay, you really don’t have to say “Hi how are you doing?” to everyone getting on the bus at 5 pm… Or maybe you do.

5. Has rails available to hang onto if there aren’t enough seats left.

I’m certain that’s just about the only consolation about having to stand up on the bus. If you’re a klutz like me, it’s a doozy.

Also, have laps available should you fall over during bus takeoff or a turn.

It’s definitely a great way to make friends quick!
