The Cast of “Stuck in the Suburbs” 13 Years Later

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

On July 16, 2004 the world was blessed with the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie “Stuck in the Suburbs”. While I can remember watching this movie over and over, I’ve always wondered what happened to those actors and actresses we were all so obsessed with in the early 2000’s. So, 13 years (and four months, but who’s counting?) I decided to do a little digging to see what the actors are up to now.

Danielle Panabaker (Brittany Aarons)

Then: Danielle’s other claim to fame included  “Sky High” (2005), “Yours, Mine, and Ours” (2005), and DCOM “Read it and Weep” (2006) with her little sister Kay Panabaker.

Now: Currently 30 years old, she is a main character on the show “The Flash” on the CW where she plays Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost. In July 2016 she announced her engagement to her boyfriend Hayes Robbins, an entertainment attorney, whom she married on June 24, 2017.

Brenda Song (Natasha Kwon-Schwartz)

Then: A Disney legend, Brenda starred in “The Ultimate Christmas Present” (2000), “Get a Clue” (2002) with Lindsay Lohan, “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” (2005-2008), “Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior” (2006), and “The Suite Life on Deck” (2008-2011).

Now: She recently starred in the show “Pure Genius” on CBS which was canceled after one season. But you can look for her this Christmas season on Freeform starring in the TV movie “Angry Angel” which will premiere on November 27th. Brenda Song and Trace Cyrus (Miley Cyrus’s brother) were together from 2010-2017 and were engaged for five years until they recently called it off. Brenda is rumored to currently be dating Macaulay Culkin, the child star of “Home Alone”.

Taran Killam (Jordan Cahill)

Then: Before he was the heartthrob Jordan Cahill, you may remember Taran as Spaulding on “The Amanda Show” soap opera sketch, Moody’s Point. He was also a comedian on the seventh season of “Madtv” (2001-2002).

Now: From 2010-2016 he starred as a cast member of “Saturday Night Live”. In addition, in January 2017, he took over the role of King George III in the Broadway hit “Hamilton”. On September 8, 2011 he married actress Cobie Smulders and they currently have two daughters.

Ryan Belleville (Eddie)

Then: This actor landed his first big role as Jordan Cahill’s assistant/best friend when he was about twenty-six.

Now: He co-wrote and starred in the Canadian sitcom “Almost Heroes” which unfortunately only lasted one season in 2011. He is better known now as a stand-up comedian in Canada where he is originally from. His comedy career has been more successful allowing him to appear eight times at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal and various other comedy festivals around Canada.
