5 Conveniences You Will Miss About Freshman Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

If you are an incoming freshman and are really excited to be moving away from home to live in your own dorm, there are a bunch of things that you should cherish while living on campus. If you are not a freshman and are planning on living a little further away in an on or off campus apartment, then you can use these 5 things to reminisce on how easy your life use to be:

1. Waking up at 7:40 a.m. for an 8 a.m. and still being able to make it right on time (with a little fast walking, of course). When you’ve used the night before to stay up late to do homework, study, or just binge watch Netflix, you could always rely on this trick to help out your participation grade.

2. The dining hall being just steps away from your dorm. We probably didn’t have to think twice about going before rush hour to beat the sandwich line.

3. Speaking of the dining hall (Core, specifically), Starbucks was basically your delicious Strawberry Acai refresher backyard.

4. We can’t forget the convenience of heading over to the library in a matter of minutes. There is no better place to get a break from your loud and rowdy residence hall.

5. Last, but never the least… NO PARKING STRUGGLES! As a freshman, you are granted the opportunity to buy a parking permit for an on campus residence lot that is made specifically JUST FOR YOU. Try going around the entire campus 5 times just to find a parking spot 5 miles from where you are trying to go.

Hi readers! My name is Hemani Patel, and I am Senior Biochemistry major at Clemson University. When I'm not in the library (which is most of the time), I'm usually watching movies, with my friends, or practicing with my Bollywood fusion dance team! I'm also very adventurous, so I like to travel and be around new places and people.
