10 Reasons to Rush Phi Sigma Pi

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.
Was one of your New Year’s resolutions to become more involved on campus? With

the beginning of a new semester, you might feel a little overwhelmed by emails,

flyers, and library bridge stakeouts. You might not know what organization will best

suit you. Well, Phi Sigma Pi might be the perfect answer to your search!

Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity is a gender inclusive brotherhood based on

the ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, and Fellowship. We aren’t just another honor

society or resume builder. PSP is a close-knit organization of interesting people!

Here are just a few of the things that make our fraternity so great!

1. You instantly gain around 100 brothers!

With our chapter growing every semester, Phi Sigma Pi has a broad range of

individuals! Our brothers come from different majors, different parts of the

country, and share different interests. With the amount of brothers in our

organization, you are bound to meet a few that share your passions and

hobbies!

2. Within the big brotherhood, you also become a part of a smaller family

tree!

Phi Sigma Pi has the traditional Bigs and Littles structure. You get to have

your own little family on campus!

3. PSP gives you the opportunity to help the community!

Our brothers participate in a number of different service activities, including

volunteering at Collin’s Closet, nursing homes, and Adopt-A-Highway!

4. As a brother, you gain automatic study buddies!

Because one of our main pillars is Scholarship, you are bound to see several

of our brothers studying in Cooper at any given time. They’ll probably be

drinking too much coffee from Java City or ordering Tigers to Go as a reward

for their hard work!

5. You don’t have to worry about sitting by yourself at football games!

Block seating saves you from the hassle of online waiting rooms and

guarantees you a seat in the same section as your bros!

6. PSP brothers have some pretty awesome dance moves!

In the past, we have taken both shag and belly dancing lessons! At the end of

each semester, we show our moves off at Semiformal in the fall and Formal in

the spring.

7. You get to go on adventures with your brothers!

From ice-skating to ropes courses to white water rafting, our brothers are

always up for a fun outing!

8. You’ll learn new skills!

Self-defense, resume building, and sushi rolling are just a few of the fun

classes we have taken as a chapter!

9. You become a part of a national network!

We have brothers all over the country! You’ll even get the chance to meet up

with them at Regionals or Nationals!

10.  You’ll meet your best friends.

Phi Sigma Pi has united too many BFFs to count. You’ll find your late night

Cookout buddies, your finals week breakdown buddies, and your future

roomies. Friendships that start in this brotherhood last a lifetime!

Phi Sigma Pi will be holding an information night on January 20th at 6 PM in

Ballroom A of Hendrix. Feel free to stop by! If you have any questions, contact

Laura and Delaney (the Initiate Advisors) at betakappa.initiation@gmail.com. We

look forward to hearing from you!
