This Is Us: Season 2

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

This Is Us premiered its first episode of season two last Tuesday, September 26.

Following Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore respectively), the show explores their path through marriage, adulthood and parenting of their “Big Three” children: Kate (Chrissy Metz), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Randall (Sterling K. Brown).

Creator Dan Fogelman continued to draw viewers into the characters’ lives this past episode. Typically when I watch a TV show, I may periodically scroll through my phone; there was none of that with this captivating, jaw-dropping episode. There were tear-jerking moments as well as funny ones. This Is Us really has it all.

While season one ending in a cliffhanger, only part of the questions were answered. I will not spoil any of the show, but I will say that

I still want more!

Season one finished with eleven awards, including Critic’s Choice Television Awards’ “Most Exciting New Series.” It is only time before this season starts raking in the trophies too. I cannot wait to see how this season continues.

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
