The Do's and Don'ts of Facebook
Facebook can be a pretty complicated place. Luckily for you, Collegiettes, Her Campus is here to guide you through the top do’s and dont’s of Facebook!

Do: Post classy photos of yourself.
Don’t: Post photos of you in sexual or suggestive poses, showing your lady bits, or anything else of the sort. You may think you’re being ironic, but trust us, you don't look as cute as you think."
Do: Send me an invite when you are hosting an event.
Don’t: Send me an invite to events that you know I will not want to go to. Do not clog my requests feed with invites to hear your second-cousin play acoustic guitar at a coffee shop three states away.

Do: Post photos of you and your friends
Don’t: Post photos of you, your friends, and everything you drank last weekend. Not only does it make you look sloppy, but potential employers are often able to see photos you post also. The photos could be the difference between getting your dream job, or being doomed to be an assistant manager at Bed Bath and Beyond. Not to mention, if you are under-age there could be even worse consequences (though it doesn’t get much worse than Bed Bath and Beyond). If you are under 21, posting photos of you with a beer in your hand could lead to legal consequences. Be smart and think before you upload!
Do: Post a thoughtful or funny status update.
Don’t: Post a cryptic update that absolutely no one will understand. We understand you may still have feelings for your ex, but “The time was brief :/” will just leave everyone curious and annoyed.

Do: Post a few photos during your pregnancy.
Don’t: Post tri-weekly photo updates of your pregnant belly in all its glory. Unless you are planning to pursue a career as a pregnant model over Facebook, spare us.
Note* The same goes for once the kid is born. One picture is adorable. Five are cute. Five-hundred make me want to report you to child services for child exploitation.

Do: Have fun on your night off and post a quick status update about it the next day.
Don’t: Call out sick from work but post the next day about the “cRaZiiiii nite out” you had. Co-workers will see it, and pretty soon you’ll be fired and unable to pay for the five sex-on-the-beach’s that you’d like to have next weekend.
Do: Start a conversation topic via status update or wall post.
Don’t: Start a fight via status update or wall post. No one wins and you both just end up looking stupid.

Do: Send me a friend request if you know me.
Don’t: Send me a friend request if you’re a creepy old man looking for new “friends”.

Do: Change your relationship status once your relationship has ended.
Don’t: Break up via Facebook. This one is pretty self-explanatory. Just don’t do it.
Overall Facebook can be a pretty fun place, and as long as these common faux-pas are avoided. Good luck, and remember to 'like' Her Campus Clark on Facebook! Happy networking!
