Hey collegiettes, Clark is hosting our Fall Career fair this Wednesday, September 20th from 12-3 PM. The event is taking place in Tilton Hall in the UC and you can stop by whenever you’re available! The career fair is a great place to talk to future employers about semester internships, summer internships, and even full-time employment for those of us graduating soon! This is an excellent opportunity to network with alumni and recruiters! Clark’s spring career fair is where I found out about my summer internship with J. Jill. I was able to connect with the recruiter which helped me gain one of the 22 spots at the company! The ability to have a personal interaction really does make a difference!
There will be companies represented from all areas of interest: government, human services, retail, medical, and more! Some of the companies that will be in attendance are Fidelity Investments, Public Consulting Group, Booz Allen Hamilton, J. Jill, and The Hanover Insurance Group. If those companies don’t interest you, you should still come to the fair! There are many other companies on the roster. If you’re nervous about networking, check out our top tips to succeed at professional networking. Plus, Career Services is always available to help you. There are representatives from The Hanover Insurance Group coming to the Lurie Conference Room Thursday, September 14th from 3-5 PM to help prepare us for the fair.
It is important to note that professional dress is required for the fair. You can check out Career Service’s tips to dress for success if you’re not sure what to wear! Since we are all going to be dressed up, Career Services is bringing professional photographers to campus to take headshots! You just need sign up for a time between 11 AM and 3 PM. You can sign up at this link. The photos are completely free so this is definitely something you want to take advantage of!
Going to the career fair can be scary! It’s awkward to sell yourself and even as a senior, talking to recruiters makes me nervous! However, there are plenty of resources on campus to help us prepare for this exciting event! Just go in with an outfit you love, a few copies of his resume, and a good attitude!
