4 DIY Valentine’s Gifts That Won’t Break The Bank

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

Having trouble finding the perfect, sentimental gifts for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day? With the start of a new semester upon us, it’s a challenge to find the time and money to shop around for the ones you love. Here are four inexpensive yet sentimental DIY solutions that are both super cute and fun to make!

1. “Be Mine” Cookies

These are creative and delicious treats you can make and send to the ones you love most. I call them the “Be Mine” cookies because they resemble the very popular “Be Mine” logo commonly attached to Valentine’s Day, but you can write different messages on each cookie. With this option, you can make a tasty treat that sends a sentimental message to your loved ones.

2. A Box of Treats

This is a box that contains yummy treats for someone special. All the items are fairly inexpensive, and it’s super fun trying to create something meaningful and unique to give to your friends and love interests. With a special, creative message and a few of their favorite items, they will cherish this simple gift.

3. A Heart Filled with Gold

This is a perfect way to recycle a heart shaped box of chocolates that many of us have received in the past. You can put a variety of small items in each slot, including dollar bills, movie tickets, lottery tickets, cute messages or a mixture of all four. It’s a creative way to throw your Valentine off course and show how much you care without emptying your bank account.

4. Homemade Cards

It can get pricey spending money on gifts for so many people you love – friends, family, or significant others. This is a great alternative to spending money on gifts. You can use things that are commonly found in your house and create homemade Valentine’s Day cards that express your love for the people you care about.

Deciding on Valentine’s gifts can be tricky because you want to make sure you make them unique, sentimental, and most of all, fun! You don’t always have to spend tons of money on sentimental, creative gifts. It’s the thought that goes into Valentine’s gifts that matters. Try out one of these great ideas to show your creativity and love this Valentine’s Day!
