Why The Week Before Finals Is So Much Worse Than Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Finals week. The dreaded statement that is a part of every college student’s life. Finals are terrible, don’t get me wrong, but there is something so much worse. Plain and simple, it’s the week before finals; it is by far the worst week of the college semester for those of us who aren’t lucky enough to have a dead week. These are the reasons why going through the trauma of pre-finals week makes finals week feel like a breeze.

1. First off, you have about 1,000 projects due that week despite the fact that you’re only taking five classes.

2. All of those awful projects are made significantly more complicated because they’re group projects. This means you have to coordinate schedules.

3. This is around the time when summer doesn’t seem so far away, so you start daydreaming about your freedom.

4. All of your friends want to hang out because you’re not going to see them for three months.

5. To top it all off, you still have to study for all of your finals, which will most likely make or break your grade.
