Campus Cutie: Franco Machado

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Meet Franco Machado, this week’s campus cutie!

What’s your major and year?

I’m a screenwriting major and I’m a sophomore.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to dance bachata and other kinds of hispanic dance, I like to breakdance a lot too. I also play a lot of instruments, like guitar, viola and piano. And, of course, I like to go to Disneyland with you, Hunter.

Aw same. What do you love most about Chapman, besides me obviously?

I love how intimate the Chapman setting is. You get to know a lot of people who are interested in things that you are interested which makes it a great place to make lifelong friends.

Do you have any advice for new students?

Just have fun and take everything one step at a time because that way you’ll realize everything is manageable. Also write down everything you have to do to visualize what needs to get done.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot is the top of the parking structure near the dorms because you get to see the fireworks and awesome sunsets.

What two classes would you recommend?

Visual Storytelling and theatres in world cultures (you get to go to a lot cool performances)

Do you have a job?

Yeah, I actually coach elementary kids in Fullerton for soccer.

What made you choose that job?

I definitely think my passion for soccer when I was a little kid motivated me want to help kids to play as well and have fun with the game.

Are you involved with any on-campus clubs?

I am president of the Latin American Student Association as well as the Latin American Filmmakers Association. I’m also apart of the Orange County Club Soccer team.

What a (campus) cutie, am I right ladies?!

I love all things traveling, books, movies and adventuring!
