Spencer Perry: The Radio Wrangler

Vancouver native Spencer Perry paired his love of country music and his experience in the press to start his own blog, radiowrangler. The second-year journalism and business student was a musician and a columnist for a punk magazine in high school. As he became a regular writer for the publication, he also founded his school’s first student-run newspaper, The Concrete Journal. But he wanted to do something on his own terms. “I saw a hole in the market,” said Perry. “The beauty about blogging is that I was able to just do it.” READ MORE

I wouldn’t go so far as saying I’m addicted, but I will say that it would not be easy for me to completely disconnect. Recap of Ottawa Fashion Week 2012

Ottawa Fashion Week brought a little couture to the capital last weekend. The three-day event, which took place at the classy Sala San Marco in Little Italy, hosted 21 international design labels who each crafted stunning and beautiful Spring/Summer collections. In addition to the shows, there were several talented musicians who performed in between runway shows and a number of artists who set up booths across the street. I never found myself having a dull moment throughout each of the three nights. When I wasn’t watching the runway shows, I was listening to live music and browsing through beautiful hand-crafted jewellery, or chatting up a lady who hand-sews and hand-paints unwanted shoes.
