Inside Look: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal State LA chapter.

Every hardcore Harry Potter fan’s dream has finally come true. Universal Studios has officially opened the magical “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” to the public! And the answer is YES, it is everything you could ever imagine what a real-life Harry Potter world would be like.

The first section of this magical world is Hogsmeade which consists of shops that sell the best of the best treats: jelly beans, acid pops, chocolate frogs, pumpkin pasties, treacle tart, and pumpkin juice among others! My personal favorite treat sold at just about every corner in Hogsmeade is Butterbeer. Yes, the famous drink consumed by your favorite wizards is literally everywhere and it tastes like heaven.

As for the rides, there are two roller coasters that are fairly short, yet extremely fun. You get to enter Hogwarts and see all of your favorite characters like: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Malfoy, Snape, and of course…Voldemort.

If you are a die hard Harry Potter fan, you have got to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter ASAP. If you go before April 7th, you get to experience the “soft opening” where the park makes sure that the rides are intact and that everything is ready for the grand opening in April. There are less people now, because many are not aware that it is open already! So grab your broomsticks, wands, wizard (or muggle) friends, and fly to Hogwarts!
