What Your Breakout Is Telling You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Acne and the occasional big zit can be serious problems for all of us (especially the day before a date or special occasion.)  Have you wondered what those sudden pimples are telling you?

According to some Chinese Medicine practitioners and beauty gurus like bubzbeauty, certain parts of the face represent internal areas of the body. This is called “Face Mapping.”  According to this theory, eating or cutting out certain foods, exercise, regular sleep (and maybe a normal check-up at the doctor’s) can help calm your acne as well as improve the health of your internal organs.

Find What’s Wrong with Your Body and Cures with this Face Map!

o   take omega-3 to help regulate hormones

13: Stomach

o   include more fiber in your diet

o   drink herbal tea to flush away toxins

14: Illness (cold or flu)

o   get enough sleep

o   drink more water — always stay hydrated

o   ingest more vitamin C (orange juice)

This face map may not be 100% accurate when it comes to answering why that pimple “island” has appeared on your face, but it helps us understand our bodies and motivates us our less healthy habits.  Of course, you should keep in mind there are other contributing factors (changing skincare, makeup build-up from not cleaning it properly, and allergic reactions) that may cause breakouts.

If you’re interested in finding more about the cause of your breakouts, this is a great page to read.

And check out famous youtube guru, bubzbeauty’s video on Face Mapping!
