Poly Places: Shine Cafe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

So you hear that Waka Flocka Flame is vegan and you’re astounded.  Why would anyone in their right mind, especially a rapper, go vegan?  Plenty of celebrities – Ellen and Portia, Ariana Grande, Woody Harrelson, and of course, Gwyneth Paltrow – are vegans.  But even I, a vegetarian for almost two years, couldn’t imagine going without cheese, ice cream, and the other necessities to my college diet.  What do vegans actually eat?  Does it taste good?
If you’re curious to dig into some vegan bites, either to broaden your palate or figure out what this “fad diet” is about, Shine Café in Morro Bay is right around the corner for you to check out.

Featuring an exclusively vegan menu, gluten-free options, and ingredients sourced from our local farmer’s market, Shine Café’s menu is packed with vibrant tastes and unique entrees.  From superfood smoothies, vegan street tacos, delicious salads, acai and the “T.L.T.” (tempeh, lettuce, and tomato), Shine Café will leave even the most cynical Angus-beef born-and-raised meat-lover pleasantly surprised.

So if you’re feeling like you need a little adventure in your diet or just want to have a tasty meal, slide on over to Shine Café for breakfast or lunch.  It’ll leave you happy, full and, if you’re like me, thinking, maybe I actually could go vegan!
