“What is/was your childhood dream?”
“That’s a hard one, because I almost died when I was young, and so at a young age, my philosophy was, ‘True wisdom lies in gathering the precious moments out of each and every day’, and so with that, it’s always been when someone asks me what you want in the world, I want world peace and things like that, I don’t want material items. As a dream, just to live gently on the land.”
“If I can ask, what was the disease or accident?”
“I have a family history of autoimmune disease. I was 13 when I was diagnosed but I was 16 when it really started to really take hold.”
“What was that like?”
“Well when it was finally diagnosed, I had no readable blood pressure, so I was trying to convince doctors that I was sick, they would always say, ‘Oh, she’s just looking for attention’ and things like that. Even the doctor I went to when I had no readable blood pressure said stuff like ‘Is she having problems in school?’ or ‘Is she having boyfriend problems?’ and I kept saying no. It just changes your perspective on life. It helps you to appreciate what we have because a hundred, or even seventy years ago I would have died.”
