20 Reasons Why Your Best Friend Makes Everything Better

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

We all have that one person in our life that can make any horrible day at least a little bit better. It doesn’t even have to be a horrible day; your bestie can turn a good day into a better day. When you two are together people either get annoyed at how weird you are, or it just makes them miss their BFF. Whether you live five feet or five hours from your best friend, she will never fail to be your person.

1.      You can rely on her to have the same opinion about something when you feel like you are the only one thinking it.

2.      You two watch all of the same TV shows, so you know she will be texting you to discuss the latest episode.

3.      She brings up inside jokes from when you were ten that still don’t fail to make you laugh.

4.      She offers you her clothing on those days when you hate all of yours.

5.      You know she will, without a doubt, go to the bathroom with you at a party–almost always resulting in deep talks.

6.      She will finish your sentences when your brain seems to stop working.

7.      You know that you can do anything in front of her without an ounce of judgment.

8.      She posts embarrassing pictures of you on the Internet for a good laugh.

9.      There is no shame when you two split a gallon of ice cream in one sitting.

10.  She makes you go to the gym the next morning even though you’d rather just eat more ice cream.

11.  You both help each other avoid the people you don’t want to see when you go out in public.

12.  She pretty much provided you with your second family, giving you two sets of parents, siblings and maybe even the dog you never had.

13.  She will rescue you from any awkward situation with a simple phone call.

14.  You can ugly cry in front of her and she will cry with you, or laugh at you depending on the situation.

15.  She tells you when you are being stupid… this is better for you in the end.

16.  When you don’t feel like being social she will literally sit on the couch and do nothing with you and it ends up being better than going out.

17.  If you two are unfortunately long distance friends, she still makes your day with the random texts that make you laugh out loud in class.

18.  She reassures you that you won’t end up without plans after graduation by proposing that you and her pick up and move to Hawaii, or at least get an apartment together.

19.  She will drop whatever she’s doing at any time of the day if you need her help.

20.  At the end of the day she brings the best out in you and continually proves why she’s your best friend.
