Her Campus Cal Lutheran: Why did you decide to attend CLU?:

Xochitl Lopez: I decided to attend CLU because of the great financial aid package, I couldn’t pass it up. And when I visited the campus for the first time I felt like I truly belonged compared to the other campus’ I visited.

HCCLU: Although it’s only been three weeks, what’s your perspective on the school?:

XL: I have learned that I can walk much faster than I thought I could. I can’t believe it goes by so fast, I didn’t realize how fast time goes.

HCCLU: So far, has CLU been what you expected?:

XL: Yes, it is a very small campus. I feel like I fit in and I know my place.

HCCLU: Have you gotten involved in any clubs or programs yet?:

XL: I’m part of Student Support Services. I have attended interest meetings for Her Campus, Pride Club, and the Green Club.

HCCLU: What was your favorite part of summer?:

XL: I went to Disneyland for the first time in 5 years.

HCCLU: What made you decide on your major?:

XL: I decided on Sociology because I took AP Psychology in high school, and when we got to the sociology unit, I learned about the meaning and I loved it. I picked Spanish because I feel that it would be useful in the workplace.

HCCLU: Who do you look up to and why?:

XL: My older sister, who’s eighteen years older than me, because she has always taught me to work hard and she is everything I hope to be to my little sister. She is my inspiration.

HCCLU: What’s your dream job and why?:

XL: I want to own Disneyland because it makes people happy and that’s just what I want to do, I want to make people happy. After all, it is the happiest place on earth.

HCCLU: So far, what has been the hardest part about transitioning from high school to college?:

XL: I knew that I was going to have to read a lot in college, but I didn’t expect this much. The fact that I have to read a lot and I leave it until the night before, which makes it overwhelming.

HCCLU: What do you hope to accomplish outside of school these next four years?:
