Take A Peak into this Month’s BirchBox

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C Mich chapter.

BirchBox is a little slice of heaven you get in the mail each month full of beauty samples from up and coming brands, as well as the ones you already know and love. When you open your mailbox a pink fairy sprinkles you with glitter as you reach for your package!

Not really, but that’s what it feels like.

To start with BirchBox though you have to request your subscription and it takes about 3-4 weeks to be accepted. After that, you just play the waiting game and obsessively check your mailbox everyday for the cute pink box to arrive! I love this subscription because it’s affordable for college students and the sample are usually very generously sized. Did I mention there’s a BirchBox Man too?

Here’s what was in my box for February, this months theme was the red carpet, per all the award shows that happen this month!

Jouer // Matte Moisture Tint // I absolutely loved this product, and I say loved because it’s already gone! This is the first tinted moisturizer I’ve ever used, and the reason I haven’t bought one in the past is because I have oily/combination skin, which does not work well with most moisturizers. I love this product so much because it gives my skin a nice even tone without being heavy. They even sent me the right shade and everything, fancy!

Juicy Couture // Couture La La // This fragrance sample is the third I’ve gotten from BirchBox from the Juicy fragrance line. It’s a little strong for me to use everyday, but it does smell very nice and girly.

TGI // Catwalk Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo // When I saw this in my box I was very weary to try it because just like my skin, I have oily hair and dry shampoo is either hit or miss. This was definitely a hit. It was easy to brush out and didn’t leave my hair feeling heavy. The sample size was very big also, which made me very happy.

Vasanti // Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator // This product has been added to my cart on BirchBox which just goes to show how much I love it. The tiny crystals give you just enough exfoliation but it’s gentle enough to use 2-3 times a week like the instructions say. I love trying out new face scrubs, and this is comparable this to Philosophy’s Micro-delivery Peel, which I absolutely love.

Ghirardelli // Milk & Carmel Square // We all know this was good! Ghirardelli really does make the best chocolate, hands down.

Another great thing about BirchBox is that every month after you’ve gotten your box, you can go online and write a review for the samples you got, each review earns you ten points, and for every 100 points you get $10 to spend.

If you decide to sign up for BirchBox after reading this, make sure you click the link below! When you refer a friend you get 50 points!

I'm an 20-year-old college girl trying to get my life together. I'm majoring in News Editorial Public Relations some kind of Journalism at Central Michigan University and hoping one day I'll love every minute of it.Eat, Pray, Love is the first book I've ever read whose style is comparable to my own. Read that book, like it, and you might have a sweet tooth for my writing. If not, well, I'm not one to lose sleep over people not liking me. Other than writing my days are spent in class, at the gym, or in my room tearing my hair out because I procrastinated on my homework. Did I mention I like cats?
Alex Puzzolo is a junior at Central Michigan University. She is majoring in Integrative Public Relations and minoring in Leadership.
