Skin can be such an unpredictable thing. Some days I wake up feeling like my complexion couldn’t get any better and then other days I want to put a paper bag over my head and hide from the world. To avoid that “hide from the world feeling”, I start by showing more love to my skin. Adding these products to my skin care routine has changed the way my skin looks and the way I feel about it.

Here are 5 awesome products that can step up your skin care routine:

1. Toner

Adding a toner to your routine will help to balance the pH of your skin and prepare it for moisturizer. You can apply toner with a cotton ball after you wash your face. It’s a quick step that can really help to remove oils and dirt from your pores. The best part about toners is that there are unique formulas for each skin type.

2. Eye Cream

Waking up early for class or work can really take a toll on my under eyes. I find that the best way to rid yourself of dark circles and puffiness is by using an eye cream. It will instantly make you look more awake and refreshed. Eye cream is so easy and quick to apply, but the results will have people thinking you just spent an hour or two at the spa!

3. Jade Roller

If you find yourself looking a little puffy and tired in the morning, then this tool may be the perfect solution. A jade roller is a handheld tool with two jade stones on each end that can be massaged against the skin to reduce swelling and promote blood circulation. The stones provide a cooling effect on the skin which helps minimize swelling and stimulate collagen production. You can combine your favorite eye cream with the jade roller for double the impact.

4. SPF

Rain or shine, our skin is constantly exposed to UVA/UVB rays and free radicals that cause cell damage. I know it seems strange to put sunscreen on your face daily, but using an SPF can protect your face from premature aging. There are many moisturizes that contain SPF and will not clog your pores or make you feel greasy. You can apply your makeup right over the SPF and go about your day feeling great about your skin!

5. Serum

Applying a serum right after you cleanse your face will help nourish the skin. Serums contain a higher concentration of active ingredients compared to a traditional moisturizer. Using a serum on the skin will help to minimize pores and improve texture. Serums come in a variety of formulas which makes it easy to find the right one for your skin type.
