Tea Time: Toxic Friends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Butler chapter.

Editor Disclaimer: This tea is nasty and cold, and may be hard to drink, as it is nearly a week old.

Another day, another glass of tea, this time we are discussing toxic friends and why you should drop them right out of your life.

.

First things first, let’s evalutate what makes a friend toxic.

  1. They put you down.

  2. They can’t get your name out of their mouth.

  3. They stay having nothing nice to say.

  4. They don’t respect your feelings and values.

  5. They don’t share your feelings and values to a point that stresses you out.

  6. They use you.

  7. As soon as I said this article was about toxic people you started to think about them.

If your “friend” falls into one of these categories, or even another category that I forgot to mention, that you inherintly know makes them toxic, you need to cut them out of your life.

I have recently done my own friendship purge, and let me tell you it feels good. All you have to do is bare through the awkward ‘ I don’t talk to you anymore’ phase, then reap the benefits of all of the extra time you have been granted now that you don’t waste your time on people that are not good for you.  Your skin starts to glow, you sleep better*, its like juicing only instead of squeazing juice out of a fruit you are squeezing aint shit people out of your life.

Now that you are inspired. Go out and get juicing.
