I hate being sick. Like a lot. And now the entire campus has been hit with some sort of plague. I unfortunately, received a strand of this plague.

Being sick at college sucks even more than being regular sick because you don’t have your mom to bring you soup and medicine and such. Also, you aren’t quite sure what you’re sick with because you feel like crap and don’t want to walk all the way to the health center. Then again, the health center is also probably full of other plague-stricken students, so you’re doing yourself a favor in the long run.

Being sick at college also sucks because your friends are the only ones here to take care of you, but what if your friends are germaphobes? THEN WHAT?

This is what.

(I’m not kidding, fall semester I got really sick and my friend pat me with an umbrella from afar because she was afraid of getting sick.)

For whatever reason, I’ve been sick a lot this year. Some say I’ve become a master at being sick. So, here are five things NEVER to do when you’re sick at school.

1. Don’t eat shitty food when you’re feeling shitty.

I get it, food makes literally everything better, but not when you’re sick. Greasy foods will mess with your stomach and they don’t do any good for congestion. Instead, go for some pasta or a really solid piece of toast. You’ll thank me later.

2. Get a ton of sleep.

Let’s face it, you’re probably sick because you haven’t gotten enough sleep so your immune system is at an all time low and Keith from history sneezed just a little bit too close to you. Do yourself a favor, take a day off of classes, and get some sleep.

3.  Don’t take the random antibiotics your roommate has from when she had the flu over the summer.

Just casual life lesson: don’t take random pills, regardless of who gives them to you, even if your roommate is a pharmacy major.

4.    Drink all the water.

The more water you drink, the more bad stuff is flushed out of your body. You’re also more prone to dehydration when you’re sick. So drink up, gal pal!

5.     Don’t push yourself.

Don’t think you’re going to be healthy and back to normal in like five hours. It’s gonna take some time, so maybe don’t go out this weekend.

HERE’S A GET WELL SOON PUPPY.
