Prom or Gala Jewelry, for less!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buffalo chapter.

Tis the season for prom, gala, ball, weddings, baby showers, and spring break! I love prom time  because well, who doesn’t? Admittedly, dress shopping and the  little details like shoes and accessories can be so stressful. I remember I couldn’t find a dress I liked that was in my price point so I had it made. Note: only one of the dresses came out the way I wanted.  I don’t want any of you to struggle as much as I did. Although, I can’t help with the dresses for prom… I can help with jewelry and simpler dresses for galas or weddings! Jewelry can make or break the outfit, so I make sure to have some cool pieces with me at all times. Repeating outfits is no fun, but repeating jewelry is so easy and feels new everytime. For me, accessories are easier to shop for, to reuse, and are easier on the wallet (;

I attended my first University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy Charity Gala downtown and I had no idea what to wear. I wore a simple long gown I found and some of my new jewelry that I’ve collected.If you’re anything like me, I like to look classy but fun. By that, I mean, I don’t buy fine jewelry. I guess you could say I like costume jewelry. Here are my favorite jewelry shops:

P.S. girls if you read this before the 14th, you might wanna tell your sweetheart to get on these quick!

I’m obsessed with my set that I’ve been wearing everywhere! The earrings I wear anywhere and everywhere & the necklace is the perfect collar necklace. I paired it with my navy gown and my new Carolee earrings coming up next. Also, how sweet are these bracelets( get it?)? 3. Carolee Jewelry

This is probably the closest I will post to fine jewelry, including price range. They have a huge variety, you can find elegant earrings, beaded necklaces, and even cool gem pieces. Here are the ones I own:

I’ve always loved gems, crystals, and rocks so this one was obviously meant to be. I also own the matching necklace:

Two gals from Harvard started this super trendy and affordable company and its been featured everywhere! If you’ve never heard of this website, you’re clearly doing something wrong. My shopping bag is full but my wallet has a burning hole through it so window shopping it is for me.

You can even shop Olivia Palermo’s picks! If she loves Bauble Bar, you know its worth taking a look.
