Marketing and supply chain management major, campus cutie Caitlin Higman lives by this because she knows that with effort and purpose she can help someone else’s life better. Fighting cancer has been a part of her life in more ways than just one and she cares deeply about giving back to the community mainly to help others fight cancer.
While she’s baking cupcakes and dreaming about planning the most beautiful wedding for her brother, this family-oriented, goal-digging Higman is balancing work, school, social life. “I mean I’ll sleep when I’m dead; not in the morbid, let me go do some drugs type of way but the I want to be so high of off life and get the best out of every moment while giving a meaning to my life by enjoying it in every possible type of way.”- Higman explains.
In 20 years, she wants to have a family, be a loving mother and have enough stability to start her one non-profit organization for fighting cancer.
As she is planning her life to the second, this independent cutie strongly believes in the old-fashioned way of dating. However, she is focused on herself and living up to her own expectations which makes it kind of difficult to live up to someone else’s. So during our selfish years, she’s just working on being the best she can be for herself and not for someone else. When asked what advice she would give to freshmen, she sincerely asked them to not get caught up in the fun part of college and said that it is very important to figure things out and plan accordingly: not even for after college, but for the years one is at college because then “you will not miss out on opportunities to explore, study abroad, achieve goals, live a little better.”
Higman’s favorite time of the year is Christmas. You can’t expect anything less from the family-loving Caitie. The Higmans have traditions that they follow every year and just hang out and enjoy each other. So if there is any the UB campus cutie would prefer to be at instead of Buffalo, it would be home with her parents, brothers, and brother’s fiancé.
MT: What animal would you be if you had the chance?CH: [without hesitation] A GIRAFFE! It’s just their patterns are structured but still has a sense of freedom.
