5 ways to actually stick to your new years resolutions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buffalo chapter.

If you’ve resolved to drink more water, carry a water bottle with you at all times!

This may sound simple but I’m definitely guilty of going a whole day without any water, just because I simply forgot to bring my water bottle with me. Not only should you always keep a water bottle with you, try to refill it multiple times a day.

If you’ve resolved to work out more, try UB group fitness classes!

Fitness classes are an easy and fun way to get back into shape. Sometimes being around other people is easier to find the motivation to keep going. Personally, I feel more motivated to work out when I’m with a group of friends!

If you’ve resolved to organize/plan better, try writing everything down for the week in advance!

Although this may be common practice for a lot of people, I just recently started doing this last semester. It is beyond helpful to see what exactly you have to do for the week, due dates, and social activities. You can also add in check-lists for extra things you need to pick up from the store or get done in advance!

If you’ve resolved to saving money, put little parts of your paycheck aside each week!

This is exactly how, as a college student, I afforded to pay for a trip to Ireland by myself! I saved parts of my paycheck each week and it really does add up in the long run.

If you have resolved to be more confident, try reading this book!

“You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life.” It says it in the title! I just picked this up for one of my self-given Christmas presents. The reviews are excellent stating that the book is super motivating to start changing your life and become more positive!
