Buff State Girl Code: Preparing for Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

Hey Ladies!

We all know what time of the year it is again, one of our favorites as college students, Halloween! I’m here to give you ladies a few tips for how to prepare for Halloween weekend.

First start looking in to possible Halloween plans. Are you trying to stay in? Are you trying to hit the nightlife scene? Do you want to go to some sort of scary festival like fright fest? Whatever you start looking in to now will give you a fair amount of time to prepare and get your group of friends assembled and your money saved up for that weekend!

Next once you somewhat have an idea of what you want to do the hard part kicks in…deciding what you want to be for Halloween. If you have a group of friends a group themed costume would be awesome, there are so many to choose from. Some possible group costume ideas could be scooby doo and the mystery gang, rugrats, power rangers, ninja turtles, characters from the justice league, and so many other options! Now if you’re like me and want to be a solo character you really need to put some work in to thinking of a costume. What helps me decide on a costume is picking a certain theme every year like movie characters, eras in time, sports costumes, etc. Picking a theme really helps you to narrow down ideas. Once you pick a theme make sure your costume is original! It is the worst to pick a costume and go out somewhere and see 3 other people wearing the exact same thing you have on, you’ll feel very unoriginal. We’re still in  early October but by the end of the month we all know how cold it can be here so make sure whatever you choose you’ll be warm in. At the end of the day you want a costume that you feel comfortable wearing.

Whatever you do just make sure you have fun getting ready for Halloween and that weekend will be a blast!
