7 Things You Should Do During Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

It’s over. It’s finally over. You can have that cliche moment where you take all of your papers and toss them in the air. The fall semester has officially ended which means you can now relax and take a much-needed break from school. Here is a list of 7 things you could do during the Winter Break!

1. Sleep for as long as you want

Break is a synonym for sleep. #facts. This is one of the only times you can sleep all day and not feel guilty about it. No classes. No school work. No getting up early. So take some time to lounge in your bed and sleep the day away. No one will judge you.

2. Read

The last thing you want to do after finishing the fall semester is read. However, there are some great benefits that come with it! It reduces stress and expands your vocabulary. It’s also great for passing time. If reading books aren’t your thing, then replace them with newspapers! You’ll stay up to date with current events and will receive the same benefits!

3. Spend time with your family

Winter break is the perfect for spending time with your loved ones. You’re home for weeks and have time in your schedule to spend a couple of hours with your aunts, uncles, godparents, etc. Make sure you do so because trust, these people have been waiting for this break as much as you have.

4. Catch up on your favorite shows!

You can finally catch up on your favorite television shows you missed during the semester! This is the perfect time to do so – no distractions and no one spoiling major plot points for you because they forgot you didn’t see the recent episode.

5. Volunteer

Giving back during your break is such a rewarding experience! You have all this time on your hands and taking some of it to volunteer is amazing!

6. Pinterest DIYs

This break is the perfect time to try out all those DIYs you’ve been pinning to your boards! Plus, if they turn out great you can use them as gifts!

7. Have fun

The most important thing to do this break is to have fun. You deserve it after the hard work you put in this semester! So however you chose to spend your winter break, make sure you’re doing something that makes you happy and leaves you stress-free.
