What’s New with Bucknell Dining

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

A new academic year means new changes at the Buck. From comfy new chairs in the Library Couch Room, to flashy new television screens and game tables at Uptown, to a brand-spankin’ new residence hall in the works…change is happening like never before. But amidst all this change, what’s really on everyone’s mind? Food.

The Bison, Bostwick Marketplace, 7th Street Café, and The Flying Bison (Flyson?) recently decided to shake things up with new food, new hours, and new nutrition options. Check ’em all out…and, of course, bon appetite!

NEW FOOD:

  • Bada Basil @ The Bison: With options like warm chicken and veggie bowls, spaghetti with pesto, crepe-like veggie wraps, and signature Raspberry-Basil Lemonade, we can’t be too sad to see Mac and Cheese Mondays go.
  • Chobani Yogurt Bar @ 7th Street Café: The best Greek yogurt with tons of delicious toppings that you create yourself? Dream. Come. True. Grab a coffee or a smoothie while you’re at it, and enjoy 7th Street Café’s warm, comfy atmosphere.
  • Fresh Mexican additions @ The Bison: Lots of new add-ins for your burritos or quesadillas, including more veggies and different salsas. Plus, it’s all included in the price of your meal! Can it get any better?
  • Á La Carte @ Bostwick Marketplace: Now in the Caf, you can grab your morning muffins, coffee, and pastries to-go on your way uphill to class. Use Campus Dollars, Dining Dollars, a credit card or cash to purchase items (a meal plan isn’t required).
  • Pizza, Panini’s, and BBQ @ The Bison: Your favorite slice of pizza is now offered at the East Street Deli. If you’re craving a Panini by day and some BBQ by night, check out the Daily Dish/Smokehouse BBQ station located near the salad bar.

NEW HOURS:

  • Look Out For That…Flyson?!: You know Bucknell loves you when they bring a food truck to campus. Now, The Flyson is at our service on Fridays, Saturdays, and drum roll…Wednesdays from midnight to 3:00 a.m. Fried Mac and Cheese, we’re coming for you.
  • Bison and Bostwick…Who Opens First?: You can grab a hot breakfast, continental breakfast, or á la carte items in the Caf from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on weekends. The Bison now opens at 10:30 a.m. every day, so head to the Caf for your eggs, breakfast pastries, and morning java.

NEW NUTRITION OPTIONS:

  • EatWell Online Nutrition Tool: This super cool new tool allows you to view nutrition information for individual items, calculate the nutrition of an entire meal, and filter menu options by allergens. To use, go to www.bucknell.edu/eatwell, or visit one of the EatWell kiosks located in The Bison, Bostwick, or Terrace Room.
  • MyFitnessPal App: Bucknell Dining nutrition information found using the EatWell tool can also be found on the MyFitnessPal free mobile app. You’ll never have to guess how many calories are in an order of curly fries again.

So there you have it…new year, new food, new you. Change up your campus eating routine with these exciting new options, and you might just change your mind about eating off campus at Panera, after all.
