Even though Bucknell is nowhere near a big city with the cutest shops and impeccable eateries, we all know that we end up spending a little more money than we would have anticipated while we’re here. Whether it’s at Wal-Mart, buying a variety of accessories and clothing for a themed party or eating out at Sushihana with a bottle of wine, it all adds up. If you have a lot of time on your hands, I am happy to tell you that there are actually various jobs held on and off campus that do just the trick for that bit of spending money.

Let me walk you through some of these opportunities:

Samek Art Galley

The Samek Art Gallery holds positions every semester to watch over the gallery that is held in the LC and downtown. You are able to pick the days of the week in which you want to work, and choose your hours accordingly before accepting the job.

Lifeguarding

If you are already certified in lifeguarding, then this job might be easier for you to apply! Watch over your fellow swimmers while getting your spending money by the end of the day.

Certified Exercise Instructor

If you have enough experience in yoga, cycling, Zumba, or any other exercise workout, you can be eligible to teach classes at the Fitness Center while receiving money! This is a great opportunity multitask your workout and job at the same time.

Photographer

If you have a talent for photography or have a special interest in taking pictures, Bucknell’s Athletic Department holds positions to take pictures of home games. This opportunity is great if you are short on time, all you have to do is snap some great shots then head out.

Career Development Center

The CDC holds positions for a few Bucknell students who are interested and qualified to help their fellow students prepare for their internship and job search. If you are interested in working here, email the CDC!

Working at the Library

There are numerous job opportunities at the library. The tech desk holds positions for those who have an interest and are qualified in technology. The information center also hires students to help with general questions and needs of the library. The café hires students to help serve drinks and foods to other people. There are also smaller positions that hire students to help sort out magazines, books and videotapes.

Retrah

Retrah is a men’s and women’s clothing and accessory store located on 424 Market Street. They sell cute designer clothes for women and they’re known for selling Southern Proper brand for men. Even though Retrah is not part of Bucknell, they still hire Bucknell students!

The list goes on. There are other jobs on campus such as being a tour guide, office assistant, cleaning gym equipment, working in the mailroom, making phone calls, and a few more! These random jobs on campus can be found by looking at the Bridge by clicking “Campus Jobs.” From there, it gives you the direct contact information in which you can apply to.
