Mike Muscala,
a member of the junior class, is a forward/center for the men’s basketball team. He hails from Roseville, Minnesota and is double majoring in both management and Spanish. The questions you knew we would ask…

Was Bucknell your first choice? Were you recruited?
Mike: Yes. I came here for basketball, as well as a good education. It was my first choice and I was recruited.

What was the process like? Were they persistent?
Mike: They were persistent. I just came out here in the summer for a visit and I liked it.

How do you find the student-athlete life to be?
Mike: It’s challenging, but I definitely enjoy it.

How do you prepare for a game? Rituals?
Mike: I always have to get a nap in before the game, but we do a lot as a team. We have a team meal.

Most memorable moment/game
Mike: Winning the patriot league championship last year.

What motivates you?
Mike: I find motivation in a lot of different places. I just try to get better every day.

How did you first begin playing basketball?
Mike: When I was a really young kid I started shooting around. I started playing in leagues when I was young and I really liked it.

What do you find most difficult/ most satisfying?
Mike: Most difficult? Definitely managing your time, going through the grind of the long season because there’s really no offseason. But I love basketball and the hard work pays off. We won the championship last year and I think we can do it this year so it’s all worth it in the end.

And the questions you were hoping we would ask…

Are you single?
Mike: Yes.

Any celebrity crush?
Mike: Scarlet Johanson

What do you look for/like in a girl?
Mike: Being down to earth is the biggest thing for me. There’s a lot of other stuff, but that’s the most important.

What don’t you like in a girl?
Mike: Someone who’s not motivated in terms of her own personal life.

What are some other hobbies/sports/interests?
Mike: I really like music and I like to rap, especially when I’m at home

What’s something unique about you that people may not know?
