Fashion Forecast: September 30 to October 4, 2013

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

I believe that the fall season truly gives us the best of both worlds. We can still feel summer’s warmth and know that it isn’t quite ready to say goodbye yet. At the same time, a wonderful coolness and crispness creeps into the air each autumn, creating the perfect blend of cool and warm that allows for some seriously awesome fashion possibilities. Some of my favorite fashion trends pop back up in the fall: jean jackets, scarves, cozy sweaters, riding boots…the list goes on! Here’s my Fashion Forecast for the week ahead so you know what to wear and how to wear it well so you can channel the early fall vibe perfectly.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 – Party cloudy with a high of 76 degrees: What better way to start off the week than with a cute dress and boots? This is my go-to for warm fall days. It’s a totally put-together look and one that works for warmer fall days. Try pairing a floral sundress with riding boots and a light sweater layered over top. Add long necklaces and colorful earrings, and you’re set for the day!

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 – Partly cloudy with a high of 77 degrees: Happy October! Get in the fall mood with a flannel shirt and faded jeans. I love wearing flannel shirts with a basic tee underneath. Leave the buttons open for a cool, casual look. Paired with ankle boots, a leather belt and an armful of bracelets, this look will help you feel comfortable all day long…and you’ll start October off on a good fashion note!

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2 – Sunny with a high of 80 degrees: By the middle of a crazy week, I’m all about wearing simple outfits. Try pairing black or dark jeans with a striped tee and neutral flats. It’s a chic, simple look that’ll look like it took lots of effort to put together. But, in reality, it only takes a combination of a few key pieces (yippee!) to pull it off.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3 – Partly cloudy with a high of 78 degrees: In my opinion, nothing is more flattering than a high-waisted skirt. Paired with a colorful basic tee, ankle boots and a denim jacket, it’s an easy, fun look that’s polished and different than your everyday jeans-and-tee outfit. Plus, now’s the time to show off those elliptical-toned legs before winter rolls in ;).

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4 – Sunny with a high of 75 degrees: On Fridays, it’s all about comfort; and, what’s more comfortable than a maxi dress?! In my opinion, nothing. Paired with a patterned scarf and oxford flats, it’s a look that can’t be beat.

With these outfit tips, you’ll feel comfortable and confident walking around campus. Most importantly, you’ll look great and will have no trouble transitioning your summer wardrobe into the fall! It’s a beautiful time of year, so embrace it with great outfits. Because when you look good, you feel good…that’s really what it comes down to. But, let’s be real; above all, a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from 7th Street is the perfect accessory to cute fall outfits J. ’Tis the season!
