Relay for Life at BucknellBy April 27, 2013 - 5:00pm Bucknell’s annual participation in Relay for Life will take place this Saturday, April 27, 2013 to Sunday, April 28 in the Gerhard Fieldhouse from 5 p.m. until 5 a.m. Relay for Life is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Various people and organizations participate in Relay in over 20 different countries. With the help of its passionate supporters, Relay is able to raise over $400 million dollars yearly. This money helps to fund cancer research, as well as to provide services for cancer patients and their families. READ MORE |

Chrysalis, a longstanding tradition at Bucknell, will take place this Friday, April 26 from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. in the Gerhard Fieldhouse. This year’s main performer is a fierce, funky, fabulous woman much like each one of us, PAT BENATAR! A.C.E Sponsors Breakfast Before BedBy April 12, 2013 - 9:00pm Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, tastes good at any hour. This Friday, come to the first-ever A.C.E, Women’s Volleyball team, and Men’s Basketball team co-sponsored Breakfast Before Bed event and indulge in your favorite breakfast foods before you hit the hay…or hit the town! Beginning at 9:00 p.m. until midnight, the event also features relaxing yoga and make-your-own tea bags. These calming essentials are necessary no matter the time of day and are the perfect ways to chill out after a stressful week. Go Greek FestBy April 12, 2013 - 5:00pm On April 12th from 5-8 PM, head over to the Lambda and KDR parking lot to check out Go Greek Fest! With a DJ battle, tons of free food from soft pretzels to snow cones, and carnival games it is sure to be a blast. Go Greek Fest is open to the entire campus and is funded by IFC and Panhel and co-sponsored by some of our favorites... Campus Vinyl, WVBU, and Peer Adviser. Spenser Frieri, IFC Recruitment Chair shared his thoughts about the event, "I'm extremely excited about GoGreek Fest. Lupe & Third Eye Blind Co-Headline Spring ConcertBy April 5, 2013 - 7:30am After the cancellation of Fall Concert, we’re all craving some music and fun this spring. Luckily, the Concert Committee has done it again by securing Lupe Fiasco and Third Eye Blind as the two main acts for the Spring Concert! Also, special guest Kingsfoil, a Pennsylvania indie rock band, will open the show. BUT, this isn’t just any typical indie band…FRANKIE MUNIZ is the drummer!! If that doesn’t make you want to buy a ticket; well, I’m not really sure what will. Speaking of tickets, they are on sale now for $30 each…three acts for the price of one! Tickets cost $35 for non-Bucknellians. The show is set for April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Sojka Pavilion. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. Since the concert will be in Sojka, both floor and seat tickets are available.... |

Women’s History Month DinnerBy March 20, 2013 - 5:30pm On Wednesday, March 20, the Women’s Resource Center will be holding a dinner on campus to celebrate Women's History Month. This year's theme is Inspiring Innovation Through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It promises to be an incredible event with lots of great food and conversation. The dinner is free and open to the entire campus community. You don't have to be in a STEM field to attend or enjoy this event! There will be a faculty panel as well as a variety of speakers and student performances. So, celebrate being a woman and all the amazing progress we have made not only in history but here on our campus by attending the dinner. We hope to see you there! ... |

Canoe Battleship in Kinney NatatoriumBy March 2, 2013 - 9:15pm Say what? A real-life version of Battleship? This event is hosted by the wonderful A.C.E. committee, co-sponsored by Outdoor Education, Women’s Softball, and Men’s Tennis and Wrestling. While registering for teams has, unfortunately, already ended, you can still go and watch the participating teams! In a friendly and fun competition, each team will attempt to sink the opponents’ battleship using buckets and shields to paddle around the pool. Teams can also bring their own equipment to be approved by the judges! If that doesn’t intrigue you, stop by to enjoy some aquatic-themed food. The quest to be the last one standing will take place in the Kinney Natatorium this Saturday night, March 2nd – it starts at 9:15.... |

Arianna Huffington and the Influence of TechnologyBy February 19, 2013 - 7:30pm Arianna Huffington, the next speaker in the Bucknell Forum series, “Tech/no”, will be coming to our campus to discuss the influence that technology has on the media today. Huffington founded the news and blog site, The Huffington Post, and is currently the president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group. Her lecture will follow the theme of the series, as her talk, “The Brave New World of the New Media,” will consider the evolution of technology’s role in society.
