The Real Deal on Overpriced Unmentionables

By Jen Mok
April 24, 2013 - 1:00pm

There’s a new trend in town and I’m not talking about pastel denims and crop tops. It’s not a brand name that has recently emerged as the next must-have item, but rather -- seriously pricey unmentionables. The recent popularity surge of high-end lingerie brands such as Eberjey, Hanky Panky, and Cosabella have got us Her Campus girls wondering: what’s the big deal? In response, I have attempted to help unpack the finer details of this new obsession with the most intimate pieces in our closet that (for the most part) remain unseen. READ MORE

A Closer Look At The “Bucknell Bubble”

By Margaret Hilton
April 23, 2013 - 2:00pm

The notion of the “Bucknell Bubble” has existed for a long time, but I feel like it has no clear meaning or connotation.  I think most people believe the Bucknell Bubble refers to the sheltered Lewisburg area we live in, and the privileged lifestyle that many Bucknell students enjoy   READ MORE

By Margaret Hilton, Jen Lassen
April 22, 2013 - 4:41pm

What started as an annual celebration quickly turned into a day that will forever be lamented in our country. The bombings that occurred at the Boston Marathon last Monday are no doubt tragic and horrific. However, the heroic and brave acts following the bombings demonstrate the power of compassion that often take place in such sudden emergency situations. The “Go Kit”: Your Secret Weapon

By Sara Chuirazzi
April 16, 2013 - 2:00pm

Remember that time in middle school when your friend spilled soup on your new Limited Too shirt? Or that time when you scraped your knee jumping rope at recess? How about when you couldn’t stop sniffling in class? Back then your mom was probably there to remove the stains after you got off the bus, to bandage your knee, and to stock your pockets with tissues. But us college ladies are always on the go and can’t always rely on mom’s “fix it all” powers from afar. So, if it wasn’t at your fingertips back then, now is the time to make the Go Kit your personal, purse-sized superhero! READ MORE

The Curse of the (Disney) Child Star

By Hillary Mann
April 16, 2013 - 12:00pm

Over the years, our ardent sentiments of adoration and obsession have gradually turned to feelings of shock, horror, disgust, and (let’s be honest) slight amusement.  I think we all join in on the familiar chorus of “what the hell happened to _______?!” when it comes to some of our all-time favorite child stars.  If I had to guess, Walt Disney is currently rolling over in his grave right now, considering the magical legacy he sought to build so many years ago is now associated with drunken antics, nude pictures, and drunken debauchery.  The executives of Nickelodeon are shaking their heads in disbelief and rolling their eyes out of sheer mortification in regards to the handful of stars in which they invested so much time, effort, and talent advisement.  I...

By Allison Shook
April 15, 2013 - 12:13am

While abroad, I have quickly learned that just because you speak the language does not mean that you will understand it. Having been in Australia for a little over a month now I have started to pick up on a variety of different terms. Here are just a few of the phrases that I have learned up while living down under.
