Why Spring In Boston Is Actually Great

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Despite spring in Boston being a mixture of all four seasons in one and super unpredictable, it actually isn’t that bad. After experiencing all four seasons in Boston, I can say that spring is definitely my favorite.

1. You can finally stop wearing your winter coat.

After having to wear a heavy winter coat every day for months on end, there is no better feeling than being able to walk out the door without wearing a huge winter coat. While it may be a while before you can go outside in sleeveless tops and light t-shirts, being able to go outdoors in a light sweater or cardigan after a long winter is the best feeling ever.

2. It’s not too hot and not too cold.

The weather in spring is literally perfect. Despite its unpredictability, the weather is great (for the most part). It’s not too hot and not too cold. It’s pretty fresh with just the right amount of sunshine.

3. When everyone starts to hang out outside.

I love seeing everyone outside relaxing and basking in the sun when the weather finally starts to warm up. It’s so great to take a study break by going outside and laying on the grass. It makes you feel so alive, after spending most of winter indoors.

4. The cherry blossoms.

You know spring has sprung when you see all the beautiful cherry blossoms in Boston. It’s so amazing to just take a long walk and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer. The cherry blossoms are definitely my favorite part of spring.

5. Changing your wardrobe to warm weather clothes.

After months of wearing nothing but sweatshirts, leggings, and Uggs, it’s great to switch up your wardrobe for spring. Ditching your winter coat and wearing dresses, shorts, tank tops, and sandals is such a refreshing change (and a great excuse to go shopping).

Spring is a great change from after a long winter and definitely the best season in Boston.
