Things We’ll Miss About BU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Although we all love to complain sometimes, deep down most of us truly love BU, and will miss it when we head home for the summer, study abroad, or graduate. Here are my top 10 things I miss about BU’s campus when I’m away:

Convenience points: They are so (dare I say it?) convenient. There’s nothing like paying for your laundry, getting coffee, and buying textbooks just by swiping your Terrier card.

BU Dining Service: Seriously-they are awesome: both the staff and the food. I love a warm cookie for dessert, and the salads from Loose Leafs brighten my day. Plus, they respond to tweets in minutes!

BU Hockey/School Spirit: The best start to Fridays and Saturdays are always at Agganis Arena cheering on the Terriers. And if it’s not cheering on the Terriers, it’s seeing the Red Sox fans go crazy in Fenway Park.

The BUS: Okay, just kidding. But it is convenient when you can catch it and fit on it before it drives away!

FitRec: Whether you are taking a PDP or just jogging on the treadmill, the FitRec is a beautiful place to get your workout on.

Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/Espresso Royale/Blue State: With so many coffee shops on campus, it’s easy to find your perfect drink and study atmosphere just by walking down Commonwealth Avenue.

Student Village: I don’t think I will live in such a nice apartment until I’m at least forty. Maybe. Better relish this opportunity now.

The city of Boston: Newbury Street, the Prudential Center, and relaxing on the grass at the Boston Common also come to mind when thinking of the college experience at BU.

Sense of community: In times of tragedy, the BU student body stands together, helps each other, and is always willing to lend a hand.

Friends: I think this one goes without saying, but for many of us, BU is where we meet some of our best friends and forge lifelong memories.

Elyssa is a "New Yourker" who has somehow ended up in Boston. She is currently studying journalism at Boston University and is excited to be the Campus Correspondent for the BU branch of Her Campus! She also enjoys theatre, frozen yogurt, and obsessively watching "Dancing with the Stars." When not doing any of above, she can be found quoting "Pirates of the Caribbean."
