Summer is a few short weeks away and you’ve already mapped out your entire vacation. You want to travel across the country to see your best friend, book a vacation on an island, stay active, get fit etc. Funny because both you and I know that is not how your summer is going to pan out— let’s be real here.

What you think summer is going to be like:

Everyday is a vacation! You’re gonna take road trips to the beach with your best friends everyday. You want to go cliff jumping because tumblr makes it look so cool.

Day drinking, night drinking, afternoon drinking— always drinking. It’s going to be sunny everyday and you will get the best tan. You’re gonna hit up every concert festival and most likely will have a summer romance with a cute boy you meet at one of these events.

What summer is actually going to be like:

Sleeping way past noon only to head down to your tv and become a couch potato all day. The only time you’re getting off that couch is when the doorbell rings because the pizza man is here. Yum!

Then of course there is the whole “job” thing. As a college student, chances are you have a job or internship you need to devote a good chunk of your summer to. Ugh, no time for all-day fun-in-the-sun.

So, hate to break it to you, but unless you’re one of the lucky few who can have an epic summer— you’re gonna be disappointed. Enjoy the sun when you can and make the most of the free time you have with no essays or exams! Unless you are taking summer classes…in which case I am very sorry.
