Sherlock Is Returning with a New Year’s Special

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The two-year wait is almost over, Sherlockians! The BBC hit “Sherlock,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, based on the stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, returns in two months for a New Year’s special episode.

Sherlock’s coming back!!!!!

Can you believe it’s been TWO YEARS since, “Did you miss me?”

Of course we missed you!

Knowing Moffat and Gatis, the creators . . .

. . . and the success of Cumberbatch and Freeman . . .

. . . we knew it would be a long, hard wait.

But then Setlock happened!

And we found out it would take place in the Victorian era.

And then the trailer arrived! AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

The New Year’s special airs on January 1, 2016, and will be shown in select theaters Jan. 5 and 6. Tickets go on sale November 6!

Sarah is a freshman at Boston University, although she took two years off before starting college. She is currently undeclared. She loves to write, and her other interests include reading, music, style, fandoms, and the ever dangerous penchant for online shopping. Rapunzel is her favorite Disney princess, and one of Sarah's greatest moments was meeting her and getting her autograph. She is a Hufflepuff, doesn't drink coffee (gasp!), and collects fuzzy socks.
