If Gossip Girl Was Real Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Are there any two words in the English language that can cause more excitement than “Gossip Girl”? Alright, maybe “free tuition”, but GG is a close second. For the generation that grew up watching all the break ups, makeups, and everything in between, Gossip Girl will always be a national treasure. The appeal of Gossip Girl came from watching a group of unfairly hot teenagers hook up with other unfairly hot teenagers and then proceed to go on a $5 million dollar vacation to Paris. It was completelty unrealistic and we loved it. However, just incase you wanted an idea of how their lives would really go down if Gossip Girl wasn’t a show and the characters were real people, we’ve come up with a list of just how different your favorite characters’ lives would be.

1. Blair would’ve started a gofundme to pay off her dowry.

Raise your hand if you hated Prince Louis.

2. Literally no one would talk to Dan again after finding out he’s gossip girl.

Just. Why.

3. Lily would’ve gone to an actual prison for getting Ben arrested on false charges.

His mouth says “I love you” but his face says “I hate your mom.”

4. Blair would’ve been fined for feeding the ducks.

5. Gossip girl’s identity would’ve been tracked by her IP address and shut down before she could post again.

#RIP

6. Juliet would’ve been convicted of attempted murder and kidnapping.

Serena: *almost dies* It’s cool, don’t press charges.

7. Dan would’ve actually read the paternity test.

8. Blair would’ve never forgiven Chuck after he sold her body to Jack.

Was this an unhealthy relationship or was this an unhealthy relationship?

9. Dan would’ve known Olivia was a celebrity from the start.

Apparently everyone on the planet knew she was a mega-star except for Gossip Girl aka Dan.

10. Lady Gaga would never preform for a small crowd of NYU students for free.

“I want your lovin’ and I want your revenge…and a $20,000 check.”

11. Vanessa never would’ve gotten hired because all she did was film rich teenagers talk about nonsense on a handheld video camera.

“I now present to you…footage of my rich frenimies drinking champagne on a couch filmed with a camcorder I bought from RadioShack because #Brooklyn.”

12. Nate would’ve been urged to seek counseling for rarely dating women his own age.

Nate was simutaniously the hottest and most single.

13. Dan would finally give in to his sociopathic tendencies and end up brutally murdering everyone on the upper east side.

XOXO, Her Campus
