Delicious and Healthy Snacks You Can Make at the Dining Hall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It’s no secret that it can be difficult to eat healthy in college: we’re constantly on the go, and sometimes it’s hard to put in the time to find something healthy to eat. Here are some delicious and healthy snack ideas you can make from your own dining hall.

1.     Toast, Peanut Butter, Bananas, Granola

Whole wheat toast is a great snack, because it’s healthy AND filling. Put on some organic peanut butter, sliced banana, and Sargent granola… and you have yourself a delicious and filling snack.

2. Apples and Caramel

If you’re craving a sweet treat, but don’t want to go straight for the ice cream, here is an idea for you. Grab an apple and a little caramel from the ice cream station, and ta-da… you have a healthy sweet treat.

3.     Whole Wheat Wraps with Hummus and Veggies

The sandwich station always has vegetables and hummus, so if you want a little snack but aren’t ready to commit to the whole sandwich, try getting a whole wheat wrap with the vegetables that are there, and add a little hummus. You have yourself a healthy mediterranean snack!

4. Vegetable bowl with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar

The salad station always has fresh cut vegetables, so put a mix of your favorites in a bowl and mix them with oil and vinegar. It’s super easy and healthy, and it is a perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
