Sometimes the dining hall gets old, Starbucks doesn’t cut it, and you’d rather ignore your Subway craving than smell like a walking sandwich for the rest of the day. If you ever find yourself agreeing with any of the above sentiments, maybe you should take a walk down Commonwealth Avenue and look around at the bright, shiny food trucks parked outside.
From Morse Auditorium to West Campus, the new food trucks sprinkle the campus like beacons of light for those who want to try something new, would like to avoid the dining hall rush and enjoy the nice autumn weather while it lasts.
Nine different food trucks park at the designated spots during the week at certain times. With nine different trucks there’s something for almost everybody. Between all nine venues, you can get Vietnamese-inspired food, cupcakes, creative grilled cheese sandwiches, vegetarian courses, coffee, and ice cream sandwiches.
Although the thought of eating at a restaurant on wheels may make some feel uneasy, these food trucks are not sketchy or unqualified. In order for these vendors to be able to run their businesses, they must be committed to sustainability and provide no less than one healthy food option.
Here is a list of trucks that you will find on BU’s campus on any given day:
Bon Me Truck: Vietnamese-inspired food.
Price: $6 for a sandwich.
Where: In front of Morse Auditorium.
When: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday; 4-8 p.m.
Clover: Vegetarian breakfast and lunch options.
Price: $2-$5 f
or breakfast. $3-$6 for lunch.
Where: In front of the College of Fine Arts.
When: Monday-Friday; 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
Cupcakory: Cupcakes (surprise!)
Price: $3 per cupcake.
Where: In front of Morse Auditorium.
When: Tuesday and Thursday; 11:30 a.m.- 3 p.m.

When: Thursday; 3:30 p.m.- 4 p.m.
The Dining Car: Sandwiches.
Price: $7 per sandwich.
Where: In front of Morse Auditorium.
When: Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Frozen Hoagies: Ice cream sandwiches.
Price: $3- $5.
Where: In front of Marsh Chapel.
When: Changes from week to week.
Grilled Cheese Nation: Grilled cheese and soup.
Price: $4- $6 per sandwich.
Where: In front of Morse Auditorium.
When: Saturday; 4-11 p.m.
Kickass Cupcakes: Cupcakes (surprise, again!).
Price: $3- $4 per cpcake.

Lincoln Street Coffee: Obviously coffee. But also pastries and yogurt.
