5 Best Study Spots on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

1.     Mugar Memorial Library

The most obvious choice, Mugar, is the main library on campus and is in the perfect location to study between classes. Although it can be crowded, Mugar is a quiet space that many students don’t take advantage of.

2.     Pavement Coffee Shop

Located on Commonwealth Ave. shortly after the CVS by Warren Towers, Pavement is perfect for catching up on homework. The atmosphere probably isn’t suited for cramming for exams, but having some really good coffee and breakfast/lunch options definitely makes working on other assignments less dreadful.

3.     Warren Study Lounges

Study Lounge B is deemed the “Quiet” study room, but any of the study lounges within Warren are great workspaces. Part of the dining hall turns into a study lounge as late night begins, and the C tower study room is usually empty and peaceful.

4.     Rich Hall Lobby

When the weather’s nice, West Campus has a lot to offer for study spaces. However, with winter approaching, the lobby of Rich seems like a safer choice. Stacked with couches and comfortable chairs, the lobby provides a relaxed atmosphere for students to do work, or take a bit of a study break to socialize.

5.     COM Lawn

The COM Lawn is conveniently located for those who have classes at central or east campus, even if you are not a communications student. As long as the weather cooperates, finishing your work outside won’t make it feel as tedious, and you have a great view of the city.
