Where to Brunch in Philadelphia

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryn Mawr chapter.

Brunch is the most special meal of the week. For a few hours, you can forget about your responsibilities and eat as much as you want since this meal will account for two-thirds of your food for the day. Everyone has that one brunch place that holds a special place in their hearts. You’ve been there countless times, you take all your friends there, you’ve eaten at least half of their menu. Here are a few places in Philly to add to your repertoire.

Cafe La Maude

The brunch at Cafe La Maude in the Northern Liberties neighborhood offers not only a combination of meals, but also a fusion of cultures. American breakfast foods inspired by Lebanese culture are sure to leave you with a dining experience that few have experienced.

Located in Center City, the menu of this restaurant is filled with traditional breakfast and lunch items such as egg sandwiches and steak-frites. What sets this restaurant apart from other brunch places is the impeccable standard their food is held to. The quality of everything on their menu, from coffee and juice to croissants and eggs, is indescribably delectable.

Chhaya Cafe

Chhaya Cafe, located in East Passyunk, offers good coffee, interesting brunch foods and a laid back vibe. Whether you want to go there for brunch with friends, or to enjoy a cappuccino and a book on  a rainy day, Chhaya is the perfect setting.

Fishtown’s recently opened Middle Eastern Cafe is a chic, casual setting to meet with friends for a meal or coffee. Try their hummus and their assortment of interesting drinks, including a Tahina Hot Chocolate. Their steamy, fresh pita is what ultimately had me sold.

Green Eggs Cafe, with locations in Center City and South Philly, offers many classic brunch favorites as well as unique breakfast foods. Red velvet pancakes and a coffee are my favorite order from this restaurant.
