Welcome back! We’re so ready to dive into the semester! To kick it off, this first article of the semester introduces the new Her Campus Bryn Mawr executive board, and they tell us about how they spent their winter breaks. I’m looking forward to working with these ladies!

I spent the first few days of winter break with my family in Okinawa. My favorite part of that trip was the day we went whale watching even though we didn’t actually see any whales; riding the speed boat was so much fun though! Afterwards, my family and I spent the rest of winter break at home in Beijing, where I interned at a multinational tech company on their outreach team.

I spent my winter break with my family in Glastonbury, Connecticut. I didn’t do anything too exciting, but it was very snowy, so I got to go skiing and enjoy the snow! I also caught up with some high school friends, and one of my friends who I hadn’t seen in a couple of years came to visit.

I spent the majority of it sleeping. But in between that I watched Netflix and went to Costa Rica. My favorite part of Costa Rica was definitely the monkeys and the food, but mostly the monkeys.

I spent the first half of my first week of winter break with my mom. She came to visit me from China! We visited some places in Philadelphia and then flew to Miami to escape from the snow. Then, I participated in an intensive finance program held at Bryn Mawr to get exposure to the financial industry.

I spent the start of my break relaxing and eating LOTS of food with family and friends for the holidays in Maryland. Then I spent two weeks interning at a tech consulting firm with their human resources department. My favorite part of break was painting for the first time and finally getting to paint over my childhood lime green room with a lavender shade!

I spent most of my winter break catching up with family and friends that I hadn’t seen in a while in cold and snowy New York. One of the best parts of my break was having my friends from Bryn Mawr stay over for a weekend. We spent the weekend in NYC, and I got to bring them to some of my favorite places, including a cat cafe!

I spent my winter break visiting my family in the beautiful cities of San Luis Potosi, and Monterrey Mexico. As part of a family trip, I had the opportunity to visit a stunning old mining town and the present beautiful city called Zacatecas that I highly recommend everyone visit. It’s one of Mexico’s hidden secret treasures!
Throughout the semester, we’ll be sharing individual profiles on each of the team members of our chapter (including our exec board). We’re excited to shine the spotlight on the writers that keep our website running!
