HC: Tell us a little about the new club on campus Bryant Jams!

MP: Bryant Jams is a place where musicians of all areas can come together to share their passion for music, and spread it among one another.  It isn’t an organized choir, but an atmosphere where anyone can perform anything they choose to. A place where the freedom of musical expression is celebrated. Whether you’re a singer, a guitarist, a pianist, or a percussionist, everyone craves to express themselves through music. Bryant Jams simply just provides the means of doing that.

FYI: If you are interested in joining Bryant Jams, email Meagan at mpessolano@bryant.edu !

HC: What inspired you to start Bryant Jams?

MP: I felt like a part of me was missing at Bryant. Coming from a heavily musical high school career, I found it challenging to find a way to continue my passion. I tried all the existing musical clubs, but nothing fit quite right. When I started to think of exactly what it was I wanted, I came up with the simplicity of Bryant Jams.

HC: What instruments do you play?

MP: I started playing the flute when I was in third grade, and began singing when I was six.  Going into high school I played the piccolo, the French horn, and the mellophone. I’ve sung my whole life, and now am self-teaching myself guitar.

HC: Do you plan on having music be a part of your future career?

MP: Music will always be a part of my life. I know I will always sing in stressful times. I will play when I need to clear my head. And I will pass my passion onto my children, to teach them how powerful music can be.

HC: Describe yourself in three words:

MP: Creative, Kind, Grateful
