Involvements: Sigma Sigma Sigma and St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn
How did you first hear about St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn?
I first heard about Up ‘Til Dawn through my sorority, because the event was started on campus by a Tri Sigma.
What made you decide to get involved?
I decided to get involved, because it is an amazing cause and a great way to enhance leadership skills. Working so hard to help kids and support a hospital that does so much research to find cures for terminal illnesses is the best feeling in the world. My Big was also Executive Director last year and I really admired all the work she did, and really wanted to follow in her footsteps.
How would you describe your job as the Executive Director?
As director I am responsible for connecting the executive board on campus to our St. Jude advisor. I ultimately oversee the chair positions and stay in contact with our campus advisor to make sure the event planning is making good progress and we are following campus rules.
Why should we all get involved with St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn?
Everyone should get involved in Up ‘Til Dawn because the event is fun and raises a lot of money to help the kids at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The event this year is on November 7th starting at midnight, and we stay up all night doing team based competitions and giving away prizes. The event is a great way for different organizations on campus to get involved in an event all together for an amazing cause. There are also interviews to get involved on the executive board second semester!
