Best Local Ice Cream Shops

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

The warm weather has finally arrived, which means it’s time to head out and get yourself some ice cream! Grab your friends, and head over to these local ice cream shops before you leave Rhode Island for the summer!

  • Newport Creamery (673 Smith Street, Providence RI AND 568 Putnam Pike, Smithfield RI); make sure you try the Awful Awful shake! Trust us, it’s a lot better than it sounds.
  • Scoops (265 Putnam Pike, Smithfield RI)
  • Cool Licks (1808 Smith St, North Providence RI)
  • Powder Mill Creamery (777 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, RI); it’s right across from Waterman Lake, so you get to enjoy your ice cream while looking out over the water!
  • Brickley’s (322 Main St, South Kingstown, RI); if you happen to be near Rhode Island’s beautiful beaches, make sure you stop for some ice cream at Brickley’s!

If you happen to be in the mood for frozen lemonade, try one of these two places:

  • Del’s Lemonade (1260 Oaklawn Ave, Cranston RI, AND 195 Providence Pl, Providence RI, AND 1173 Douglas Ave North Providence, RI); Del’s lemonade is practically famous in Rhode Island. It’s the best frozen lemonade you’ll ever have- at least, according to any RI native it is!
  • Mr. Lemon (32 Hawkins St, Providence RI); It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but trust us, this frozen lemonade is absolutely delicious!
