Wendy Nguyen of “Wendy’s Lookbook”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

I am rarely presented with the opportunity to meet fashion bloggers. One time I was fortunate enough to run into Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere at Umami Burger and nearly had a heart attack… but that’s another story.

Since that chance meeting, I haven’t had another encounter with a fashion blogger. Last week however, when I was home in Los Angeles for break, my fate changed. While checking the slue of blogs that I peruse on a daily basis, I came across an invitation to an event at my local Madewell store hosted by none other than blogger extraordinaire Wendy Nguyen of “Wendy’s Lookbook.”  My heart skipped a beat when I saw that I would finally have the opportunity to meet one of my favorite bloggers in person and to have her give me styling advice!

When I arrived at the event (after waiting what seemed like years for the day to finally come), I spotted Wendy wearing a super chic lime green top, leather shorts, and awesome leopard print pumps. I went over to her, introduced myself, and started talking to her about how she started her blog just by creating an amazing video about 25 different ways to tie a scarf in less than 4.5 minutes! She couldn’t have been sweeter and knowing how genuine she is makes me love her blog even more. Below are some pictures from the event. And for those of you who haven’t read Wendy’s blog, then you definitely should check it out!

Andrea is a sociology major with minors in journalism and women's and gender studies. She is currently finishing her senior year at Brandeis University. She was born and reared in Los Angeles, CA, which does mean that she is a die-hard Laker fan… Sorry Bostonians. When Andrea is not routing on her favorite basketball team, she dedicates her time to her many passions. They include reading and writing about fashion, traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, watching reality television (she has a weak spot for Bravo), shopping, and working out.
