Any Brandeis student, if asked at this moment, can definitely tell you about a certain national contest that has been everywhere on the Internet- from Facebook to Twitter to YouTube. These past few weeks, Brandeis has been competing against five other colleges around the country for the opportunity to have Kathie Lee and Hoda from the Today Show film the fourth hour of their show right here in Waltham in October!
So far our school spirit and dedication has been out of control, and we made it into the top six. From Facebook statuses to tweets to school-wide Facebook groups, everyone has been spreading the word to get us here. Rachel Nelson ’13 and Reed Zuckerman ’13 were featured in a humorous YouTube video that really captures the essence of Brandeis and how energetic and excited the students here are.
Last Thursday, Sept. 20, everyone flocked to the Great Lawn in Brandeis blue to show tons of school spirit as a crew from the Today Show filmed a segment for the Today Show at Brandeis. Thanks to an impromptu sale at the campus bookstore, everyone had a chance to dress for the occasion in all of this fall’s new cute school apparel! The dynamic on the lawn was insane- everyone was so excited, and the theme of the morning definitely seemed to be that even though we are a small school, we have BIG spirit. The footage aired on Friday morning, which was amazing to see! Guess we are going to have to stay tuned in order to find out who will win.
