This Monday, April 16, the Student Union welcomed the Brandeis community back to campus with free food, great music and good old fun on the Great Lawn. The BBQ was conveniently offered the day after the break as a welcome back for those who went home (and as an opportunity to bring together those who stayed). It also served as a distraction from the horrors that lie ahead in the last exhausting weeks of school, especially all the studying that will take place during finals week, which is quickly approaching (sigh). I guess we better have fun while we still can!
Some of the delicious items on the menu at the BBQ were: burgers, hotdogs, black bean vegetarian burgers, drinks and chips, which were accompanied by great music courtesy of DJ Venti. Since it was a very sunny day, the BBQ was the perfect event. Friends were caught up with one another, danced, tanned and had fun all over the Great Lawn. Everyone ate and used the event as an opportunity to take a study break and enjoy the sun. You know what they say, there’s nothing better than a good burger to bring people together and say “Hey, welcome back to Deis.”
