Recipe of The Week: Pear and Vanilla Smoothie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

The sun is setting later, the grass is almost visible, and spring is basically here – we can start cooking for the season, too, in lighter and better ways. When you eat whole and unprocessed foods, everything about your day can seem a little brighter. A smoothie is a great way to kick-start your day, especially if you are an early riser. If you want something a little heartier, don’t add as much almond milk and turn this into a smoothie bowl; you can top this deliciousness with granola and you’re good to go!

Pear & Vanilla Smoothie

Serves 1

– 1 pear

– 2/3 of a mug of almond milk (200ml)

– a big handful of spinach

– a handful of oats

– 1 tablespoon of almond butter

– 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla powder

Directions:

First, cut the pear into pieces and throw away the core. Second, place all of the ingredients in the blender until the texture is smooth and creamy. Make sure the oats are fully blended into the drink. That’s it – nice and easy!
