A Look Into The World of The Med-School Bound

By Abigail Katznelson
May 7, 2011 - 10:12pm

I’ll be the first to say that the idea of Medical School makes me itch-it’s probably one of the most intimidating things I can think of as a graduating senior, that being said, I’m not even pre-med. I have a lot of respect for the people who work themselves to the bone in one of the most rigorous paths of study Brandeis has to offer, but until now it didn’t seem to accessible to all of us regular folk (if you are not pre-med and feel as though I’m putting down your major: I’m not, I promise. I know it’s hard to be you). READ MORE

Dressing for Success(ing)

Some people hate it and some people love it. It’s quickly evolved into this new craze that many celebs and regular folk alike have embraced with open arms or dismissed as unnecessary. I’m talking about Twitter. I am one of many who has a slight obsession with it. While I do enjoy venting about a long day or fashion crimes I see people committing, the part I enjoy most is “following” others (178 to be exact). The most important ladies and gentleman I follow are my favorite stylists. A couple of days ago I was on, naturally, and a particular tweet by Rachel Zoe caught my eye.  READ MORE

Osama Bin Laden: A Fond Farewell From Her Campus Brandeis

By Abigail Katznelson
May 1, 2011 - 11:35pm

I’m going to take a second and offend those people who believe every life is precious: I am truly happy to hear that Bin Laden has finally died, and even more happy to hear that it was not of old age (although how this happened I am completely clueless-the monster looks like he's in his eighties and is living in a hole).  Things to wonder now as we wait for President Obama’s speech on CNN, CBS or whatever network you happen to find most pleasing: 1) Why did the President golf today? 2) Why were we finally able to find Bin Laden, after 10 years: did he slip out for some fresh air? 3) What does this mean for America? 4) What will this mean for Obama? 5) Where the heck is Obama?? It’s been an hour and still no speech!...

The Pros and Cons of Brandeis' Spring Break

By Ellen Franz
April 19, 2011 - 9:12pm

Every year when I come home in April for spring break, I’m hit with questions like, “Why are you home? Don’t you have school?” When I respond that this week is my spring break, I receive odd stares and more questions about why my spring break is now. Last night at my Seder (the ritual meal on Passover), I heard these same questions, either statements like, “the more you pay, the less you go” from my dad or remarks such as “I’m so jealous!” from other collegiettes, and it got me thinking about the pros and cons of our beloved Brandeis spring break.

Rachel’s Rides: Finally! Hassle Free Airport Transportation!

By Andrea Stern
April 18, 2011 - 1:43pm

Have you ever tried taking the commuter rail, to the T, transferring twice and an hour and a half later making it to Logan? Or do you bite the bullet and pay the minimum $60 cab ride and sit in traffic during rush hour in order to get to the airport? Perhaps you have been able to split the taxi with someone, making your cost only $30, but after tip and tolls, it winds up becoming a pricy ordeal.  READ MORE

The Next Nicki Minaj? Here comes Karmin

By Abigail Katznelson
April 15, 2011 - 2:12pm

Although I admit, initially I thought she was speaking a different language, this lady is a pretty ridiculous rapper. So much so that I am currently contemplating a comparison between her and (my recent obsession) Nicki Minaj. Even as an avid Nicki fan, I have to say that not only can this woman rap, she can also sing (sorry NM not exactly your strongest suit). Let us know what you think and check out other videos from Karmin here. READ MORE
